Ricky
Now I don't know about you, but we here at
Wiseguys ADORE easy going, housetrained
dogs!   Nothing makes us smile like a dog
who loves to watch tv (and we mean actually
watch it!) and who sticks to us like glue.

And that describes Ricky to a T!!!

Ricky is a seven year old baby with a
personality like no other!  This little guy is SO
happy to sit on the couch with you, play fetch,
and stretch out in the grass!  His mellow
attitude would be PERFECT for someone in an
apartment or condo!  In fact, Ricky rarely
makes a peep, making him perfect for those
with close neighbors!

Ricky would like a family who wants a true
buddy to sleep in bed with them.  He would
need a 6ft fence if his new family has a yard,
but again, would be perfectly happy with an
urban loft!
Ricky also does great with cats! So if you truly
want an extremely loveable buddy to share
your life (and bed!), please let us know!
Charlie
Please meet Charlie!  He's a very shy
seven year old italian greyhound.
Charlie is very special because he has one
eye and no tail.  He loves to follow people
around, but is just very shy.
He would like to be an only dog and is
looking for a family that will be patient with
him and his shyness.

Charlie is not a small ig, but is tall and
elegant.  He enjoys being talked to and
getting kisses on his cheeks.  He will even
creep up and lay his cheek on your mouth
so that you can give him plenty of kisses!

If you're a patient person, with a quiet
home for Charlie to blossom into a
confident guy, please email us for
more information on Charlie!
Micia (pronounced
Mee-sha)
Please say hello to Micia!!

She is a chihuahua/italian greyhound-mix
who LOVES people!
She is 2 1/2 years old and just an
all-around great girl!

Micia is very good with people but would
prefer to be an only dog.  She sleeps in
bed, does very well with her house and
crate training.  She LOVES playing soccer
(running along and kicking her ball) and
would do well as an apartment or condo
dog.

Micia likes to go for walks and is calm
enough to be a great companion to an
older person, but would do equally great
with people of any age!

Micia is current on shots and spayed and
ready for her new family!
Kylie's Babies
These are some of Kylie's puppies (see success page for photos of Kylie).   She came into
rescue pregnant and had seven babies on 7-27-07.  These puppies are now fixed and ready
for adoption.  Because Kylie was a mix, the boys are bigger than an average ig, though we're
certain the dad was a purebred ig.  The girls are around the average purebred ig size.
These puppies are very social but would benefit from a basic obedience class.

We at Wiseguys aren't overly experienced with tiny puppies but we've done our best to get
them used to life in the big world!  They will need to continue working on housetraining and
lash training.  All are very friendly and have no aggression issues.

If you are interested in bringing a playful, clumsy puppy into your life and family, please let us
know!
Checkers
This is Checkers.  He (like Bingo and Domino) is
a big boy at around 21 pounds.  Checkers is a
goofball who is doing very with his crate
training.  He'll still need help
with some leash training and housetraining, but
he's a very sweet boy who wants nothing more
than to be with his people.

Because of his size, he isn't quite as breakable
as a standard ig.  However, he's not a "tough
guy" and cannot tolerate being left outside in the
cold.  He needs to be treated like a little fella, but
is a big goofball!

Checkers would benefit from a basic obedience
class and seems to do well with other dogs.  His
personality type is slightly shy, with a dash of
cartoon character!

Buster is a wonderfully affectionate dog that
requires a strong leader. We think he may have a
little whippet in his gene pool, as he has some
slight brindling on his side. He is eager to please
and just wants to spend time with you. He wants
lots of love and will ask for it.
He loves to go for walks and has nice leash
manners as long as you require it of him.
He gets along with other dogs and plays with
toys.
He uses a dog door and has not had any potty
accidents in the house, but will probably mark in
his new home once or twice while getting
adjusted to a new routine.
He tolerates being crated and knows his
designated place to sleep but would love to
sleep in bed with you.

Buster barks at bicycles and skateboards, we're
not sure if it's fear or excitement, but we will not
place him in a home with small children.
Buster had some deeper tumors removed and
the vet is confident they got all of the tumors out
and he does not need further treatment unless
they return.

Buster was also diagnosed hypothyroid
(probably why he's so chubby!) and is now on
thyroid medication which costs about
$10/month. This will also need to be monitored.

Buster is a sweet, loving, joyful dog.   He is
ready to meet you and start a new life with
someone who appreciates his happy face and
sweet demeanor.

Dolly
Dolly was originally surrendered from her owners, who
have had her since she was a pup because they were
moving. As her foster parent this is what I can tell you
about our Dolly.

What is not to love about this little girl; she's quiet, she
cuddles, she's potty trained (uses doggy door too),
and she has personality.

Dolly is 10 yrs. old and that scares many potential
adopters away. (Small dogs like Dolly can live
anywhere up to 15-17 years old.) We have taken
Dolly to the Vet and these are the items we have found
out. She had dental disease and only has 6
teeth, so she will need a soft diet.

Due to an eye infection Dolly has one eye that is not
working and is sunken back creating a water eye at
times, this does not bother her though. She has a
broken nasal cavity that causes sinus drainage down
the back of her throat which she clears with a cough.
She also has a slightly enlarged heart.

Potential adopters should know; Dolly is good with
other dogs and enjoys the companionship, however
the other dogs should not be young boisterous pups
but an older more sedate dog. We are not sure how
she does with cats but with her personality I am sure it
would be fine. Dolly would be best with a couple
without young children or no children at all.
Dolly is in the Phoenix area, but can easily be adopted
to California as well!  If you are interested in Dolly,
please contact Holly at holly@silverhounds.org

Blue
Blue's foster mom writes....

We've had Blue now for about 3 weeks and I have to
say we fell instantly in love with him.  As you can see
from his picture, he is a gorgeous boy. The pictures
hardly do him justice, any place we've taken him we
always hear, "wow, he is beautiful".

Blue is 10 years old and came from a home where he
was the only dog, so here at his foster home he is
learning to live with other dogs. I'll be honest, he does
not like other dogs. Luckily my dogs have adapted well
to his "crankiness" about being around other dogs,
and each day, Blue gets more used to living with other
dogs. He has made so much progress in 3 weeks.

If I had to sum up Blue in one word, it would be sweet.
Blue sleeps with us (and his siblings) and from the
second he wakes up he is so happy. He wakes me up
with kisses on the cheek and his tail is going crazy and
he's hopping up ready to start his day. He is 100% a
"people dog", he wants to be with his people. When we
are home you can always find Mr. Blue, next to one of
us on the couch. He loves belly rubs and lots of
snuggling.
Blue has epilepsy, but hasn't had a seizure for years.
He is on Phenobarbital and takes a pill twice a day. He
is very good about taking his pill as long as you trick
him with it stuck inside a treat. Blue loves pillows
andblankets. He can most often be found next to me
with his head buried in the blanket.

I hadn't had much exposure to 3 legged dogs prior to
Blue, and I have to say he amazes me. I was prepared
to carry him up and down the stairs but he gets up and
down them almost as well as our other dogs. he hops
up on the couch, uses stairs, "nests" his blanket to his
liking. I don't think Blue knows he only has 3 legs. I can
honestly say of we didn't have any dogs, we would
adopt Blue in a heartbeat.

He is so sweet and loving and mild tempered. he just
wants love and blankets and cuddles and he's a happy
boy. his ideal home would be with people who are
home a lot, and who will love and treat him like the
prince that he is. If you have any questions about Mr.
Blue, please don't hesitate to ask. We'll be so sad to
see him go, but his perfect home would only have 1
dog....him.

Blue is available in the Illinois area.
Please note....
We currently have volunteers in Colorado, Arizona, Nevada,
Illinois, and Oklahoma.  You will see that we have our available
dogs listed by state.  In most cases, those dogs will need to stay in
the state in which they are being fostered.  However, on occasion
we are willing to adopt out of state.  We do NOT ship dogs, so if
you are interested in a dog from another state, please let us know
and we can give you some ideas for getting your new best friend
to you!  We are also happy to refer you to a rescue in your area if
you need contact information for them!
Dillon
Please say hello to Dillon!

Dillon was found as a stray in northern Colorado.
Neither the shelter or Wiseguys have been able to locate
his owners.  This is so tragic to us because Dillon has
obviously had a very loving home in the past.

Dillon is completely housetrained and does well with
cats.  He likes other igs, but is a little shy with other
breeds.  He walks onleash extremely well and listens to
us when we give him commands.  He is very interactive
and has absolutely no shyness when it comes to people.

Because Dillon was a stray, we can only guess at his
age and believe it to be approximately seven.  He is
neutered and current on shots.  We're not sure why, but
Dillon doesn't have a long tail.  Instead, he has a cute
little "nubbin" tail that wags non-stop.  He MUST sleep in
bed (its his favorite thing) and will need an owner that
will allow that.

Dillon will need a home with a 6ft fence, or he would
make a GREAT apartment dog.  He can easily jump a
babygate, and therefore a short fence won't do.  He is
quiet, goes potty onleash, and seems to have no
separation anxiety.  He is crate trained, though eight
hours is too long for ANY dog to go without a potty
break, so please keep that in mind.

Dillon just had his teeth cleaned and unfortunately lost
18 teeth in the process.  :(  This is why its so important to
have regular dentals done on igs.  It doesn't slow him
down at all, but a new owner should be aware that he
may have to remain on a soft diet.

We have found that Dillon is the easiest foster dog we've
ever had in rescue!  If you are interested in meeting
Dillon, please let us know!
Ed and George
Please say hello to Ed and George!  They are
lifelong companions and need to stay together.

Ed is five years old.  He's the serious one of the
two and takes very good care of his buddy
George.  Ed does absolutely wonderfully with his
potty training and is quiet and friendly.  He is
neutered and current on shots.

George is three years old and is a big, elegant
guy (in looks).  In personality he's a goofball and
a complete baby.  He likes being held, is afraid of
much smaller dogs, and cries when Ed isn't
around.  He also does well with his pottytraining.
George will be neutered very soon.

Both of these guys are victims of the foreclosure
situation in Colorado.  They were reliquished to a
shelter where George became too afraid to be
adopted.  He is somewhat shy around new
people, but has gotten over most of that since
being in rescue.  Because George is tall, they
will need a 6ft fence, or an apartment to live in.

Again, these boys cannot be separated, but they
make such an awesome pair that who would
want to?!

If you'd like to bring two calm, quiet buddies into
your life and family, please let us know!

Twister

Twister is the smallest of Kylie's babies, but
definitely has the biggest personality.  She isn't
shy at all, and is always ready for an adventure.
We are working with her on leash and house
training and her adoptive family will need to
continue that training.  We'd love to see Twister
adopted by someone that is willing to do a basic
obedience class because she's a smart little
cookie and a fast learner!

Twister would probably do best in a home
without small kids simply because she has a lot
of energy.  She is crate trained and gets along
well with other italian greyhounds and small dogs.

If you are interested in Twister, please drop us a
line!
No Name
This little guy has no name yet (but we're
working on it!)

Very little is known about him except that
he was purchased from a puppymill
auction for ONE DOLLAR.  His entire life
was worth just ONE DOLLAR.

He is currently in Oklahoma but will be
making his way to Vegas very soon.
Because he's so new to rescue, we're still
figuring out his personality and
likes/dislikes.  We'll be updating his info
soon.

If you would like more information on
puppymills, please go
here
This is Jack!  He is being fostered in Las Vegas with a
Wiseguys IG Rescue volunteer. He's loving, sweet and
starved for attention, acting more like a big happy lab
than an Iggy!  His tail has not stopped wagging since
he arrived. He will make an amazing companion. He is
neutered and had a dental and lost some small teeth.
He has a lovely white & red coat which is very soft
after several baths!

He loves the other dogs, and would probably be
happiest with another mellow dog as a companion, but
would be a happy "only dog" too if his person was
around to spend lots of time with him.  He LOVES
riding in the car.

He is submissive when challenged and will do best
with a happy leader and reliable schedule. He has not
shown any aggression or growling at the other IGs he
is living with, but he does like to sniff and lick them,
and sometimes they growl at HIM!
Jack is "almost" housetrained but as with all IGs, he
must be watched for marking inappropriately in the
house. His new adopter will have to be willing to
accept that he will have accidents in the house if not
closely monitored. He seems to be a "stress-pooper"
when his foster mom leaves the house.

***Jack is able to JUMP over 6 foot fencing and
because of this, he can NOT have unsupervised
access to the outside or access to a dog door.*** We
will definately consider adopting him to someone who
lives in an apartment or a condo where he will only be
allowed outside on a LEASH.

Jack is ready to go to his new family and new life!
This is Sandy!

Sicily
This is Sicily!!

Her info will be available soon!
Uno

This is Uno!

She is a happy-go-lucky girl with a slight shy
streak.  She is very loving, listens well and learns
quickly.  She likes other small dogs and likes to
ride in the car.

Uno needs continued training with her
housetraining and leash training, but she loves
attention and that makes her training go more
smoothly!

Uno is spayed, current on shots and ready to go
to her new home and life!
This is Bingo!

He is the only non-grey baby
from Kylie's litter.  He is also the
largest of the babies.

Bingo gets along well with other
dogs and likes to wrestle.  He
wouldn't be a great companion
for a tiny ig, though he really
likes other igs.  He isn't mean at
all but is just a big, clunky
puppy.

Bingo is doing very well with his
crate training and does well on
leash.  He needs continued
training with his potty training,
though he's not a marker.  He is
neutered, current on shots, and
ready for his new family!
Domino is the shyest, and calmest of
Kylie's boys.  He's not a fan of big dogs,
but does great with dogs his own size.
He is very loving, and has a quieter
personality than the other boys.

Domino is working on crate training,
housetraining, and leash training.
We're also working to overcome some
of his shyness, though we know that
this is part of his personality.
