WISEGUYS ITALIAN GREYHOUND
RESCUE
THE NEWS AND HAPPENINGS
AT WISEGUYS...
6-21-06     We discovered that our local newspaper, the Golden
Transcript published a small article about us in their May 11th
edition!!  The article mentions Petfinder.com, and we're pleased
that the editors of the Transcript have given our homeless buddies
around the country a bit of press!!  Thanks Golden Transcript!
6-17-06       We are very proud to announce our partnership with
Silver Hounds, a wonderful organization founded by a fellow IG
rescuer!  Silver Hounds is a "scholarship fund" dedicated to raising
money (and awareness!) for senior IGs in need!!

Silver Hounds supports independent rescues that take in senior IGs
for placement in forever homes.  Because seniors often need more
medical attention upon entering rescue, their vet bills may be
higher.  That's where Silver Hounds steps in!  Various fundraisers
provide these much-needed funds in times of need.  Please visit
www.silverhounds.org for more information!!  Or you can get there
by visiting our LINKS page, or clicking on the picture below!
6-19-06     We've signed up with 1-800-save-a-pet.com today!
Now our available foster dogs are viewed even more often!!  Please
visit www.1-800-save-a-pet.com to view adoptable pets (and don't
forget about our buddies at www.Petfinder.com)!!!
Did you know...
The Original
Wiseguys are not
guys at all...they're
girls!  Gina and Gianni
were the start of this
adventure!
Did you know...
We may be WISEguys,
but we don't claim to
know everything!  If
you have a
suggestion, please
drop us a line!
7-14-06     Amy has been adopted!!  Congratulations to her new
family!!
7-15-06     Wiseguys has joined up with other local rescuers
through Meetup.com.  We'll be having a meeting on July 29th to
discuss what we would like to do with our meetup group!  Formed
by a local sheltie rescuer, this group is for those interested in
animal rescue and adoption.  We think it will be a great chance to
exchange ideas, meet other rescuers, and build relationships that
will make all involved just that much better at rescuing!  As we
know, there is a lot of "networking" in rescue and we are proud to
be able to assist other rescues in anything that they might need,
and  we know that we can count on those rescues to assist us if
they see an IG or IG-mix in need!

If you would like information on the Denver Dog Rescue Meetup
group, please drop us a line!
10-14-06     We are proud to announce that work has begun to
produce the first Wiseguys logo items and accessories!  All
proceeds from the sale of these items will be used for vet bills for
rescued dogs!  Things are still in the works, but we'll be making an
announcement just as soon as we have these items available!!
10-16-06     As some of you may remember, last year's Open House
to benefit Table Mountain Animal Center was a huge success!!
Thanks to those who attended, we were able to deliver 470 pounds
of dog and cat food to those that need it most!!

This year we are thinking of expanding our efforts and if possible,
changing the location to accommodate even more of our favorite
shelter supporters!  Announcements will be sent out as the holidays
approach, and we look forward to seeing you there!  Remember,
there are always homeless dogs and cats that need you desperately
during the holidays!!
10-22-06     We are proud to be a part of North Shore Animal
League and Weight Watchers "Adopt a Walking Buddy " campaign.
This campaign is an effort to bring those wishing to shrink their
waistlines into shelters and rescues to find the perfect partner for
walking!

As you know walking is a great exercise for those with joint
problems.  But did you also know that walking can reduce stress?
And what better way to stay motivated and have fun than to grab a
buddy and start racking up the miles!!

Why walk alone when there are wonderful companions out there
just waiting for a loving person to adopt and walk them!  For more
info, go here:
Adopt a Walking Buddy
12-3-06     We are receiving transferred foster dogs from other
states and could really use foster homes!  If you are interested,
please let us know!

Fostering involves simply caring for and loving a dog while they
await the perfect family!  Most dogs that come in need shots
and/or spaying or neutering (expense is covered by Wiseguys),
and you get the benefit of giving a dog an "Extreme Makeover"!!
1-1-07  Santa brought the Wiseguys a DVD camcorder this year,
making it possible for us to post videos of our foster pups for
potential new families to see!!  As they say, a picture is worth a
thousand words, and we believe that by seeing our little friends in
action, they will become just that much more endearing to those
thinking of adopting!  Thanks Santa!!
1-1-07  Happy New Year!!  Here are our stats for 2006, and a HUGE
thank you to all who have supported us, adopted from us and have
been patient with us!  And a special "thank you" to our families
who must endure endless stories about dogs, who have "babysat"
for us, and who are always a phone call away when the going gets
tough!!  And especially to "Grandma Wiseguys" who has covered
endless miles with us on transports!!  We love you Mom!!

Dogs into rescue:   13

Dogs adopted:    10

Still in rescue:     3

**Please keep in mind that we really only got started in July!  Not
too shabby for five months!!   We look forward to a busy and crazy
2007....just the way we like it!!
4-20-07  Please join us at Petco in Golden on Saturday April 21st
for an adoption event!  Reputed to be the biggest adoption event
ever in Colorado, it should be a fun time for all!!

This event is sponsored by Petco and the 1st Judicial District Bar
Association.

Come on out and meet Petey and Cooper!!
8-26-07  Wiseguys is proud to announce that in just a few short
days, we will have Wiseguys crew members living on both coasts of
the United States!

Hershey (now known as Emma) went to live in Alaska in January,
and Giovanni is heading to Atlanta to be a true southern gentleman!

We still maintain our policy that no dog is shipped to its new home,
and in both cases, new owners or friends of new owners have
flown to Colorado to pick them up!  This allows the dogs to fly
in-cabin, and in comfort!

Coast to coast, we're very proud that we've been able to change
lives and give new best friends to so many great families!
